Knossos site of Crete

Posted 1 year ago by sasha in response to avatar hoonie's question: I want to visit the place where the legendary Minotaur of the Crete island was believed to live. Where exactly is that? (give a different answer) .

It's five kilometres away from Crete's capital, Iraklio. The name of the site is Knossos, you can take bus nr. 2 from Iraklio and you arrive there in 10 minutes. Tickets? less than 1 euro, but the visit of the site costs 6 euros. The legend says that the Minotaur is a half man-half bull monster, living in the labyrinth beneath King Knossos' palace...It killed hundred of ancient heroes and maidens, and it was actually a revenge of Poseidon (god of the sea) addressed to the unrespectful King of Knossos.
