elena's question:
I would like to know what is the biggest temple in Athens and how I can reach it. Thanx(give a different answer) .
Of, course... it's the Temple of Olympian Zeus, and it took them 700 years to built it. Emperor Hadrian managed to complete the breathtaking monument...it is 17 metres high and it's supported by more than 100 Corinthian columns. Unfortunately, at present there isn't much left of it-only 14-15 columns, no roof, no anything...so the view is not very impressive, but if you buy youself some booklets with mythology and explanations, it will be easier to imagine how the temple looked in the years before Christ. The site is south-east of Plaka, the big squaer with souvenirs.
